Dr.-Ing.
Michael Hirschfeld joined HOCHTIEF in 1980 and worked
as project manager in civil engineering design. In 1992
he became head of the Structural Design Department; and
a year later was appointed Head of the Main Engineering
and Planning Department. Since 2000, he has been leading
the R&D section of Corporate Development at the HOCHTIEF
headquarters. Apart from this function he also gives lectures,
writes on civil engineering subjects and is affiliated
to various civil engineering committees. HOCHTIEF is Germany's
largest construction company with on-going projects amounting
to ?7.9 billion in 2000. Hochtief is ranked 7th in ENR’s
Top International Contractors’ list.
