TOPIC: The business context of research and development - an integrated design practice perspective
BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE : Richard Saxon has been chairman of BDP since 1996. BDP is one of the UK’s leading multi-disciplinary design practices. He is the author of two books on atrium buildings and a founder member and past president of the British Council for Offices. He has also involved himself strongly in the movement for the reform of construction since the Latham Review in 1994. This has included a period as chairman of the Good Practice Panel of the Construction Industry Board, membership of the strategy committees of the Construction Best Practice Programme and the Government Construction Clients Panel, and of the Treasury Construction Group. He is current chairman of the Reading Construction Forum. He was made a CBE in the this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours list.
