BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE : Roger Blundell has spent the last 25 years in construction research initially undertaking pioneering R&D into the long term properties of concrete for nuclear application and subsequently for use in offshore gravity platforms, LNG storage and general use in hostile environments. He has been particularly responsible for seeking external funding for research at Taylor Woodrow from a wide range of government, industry and private sector bodies. Roger is currently on the Council of the Association of Consulting Engineers and chairs their Environmental Panel. He represents the Construction Federation on the Governments Research Advisory Group. In 1994 he received the Prince Phillip Gold Medal in recognition of his role in establishing and developing a unique research & testing centre in the UK construction industry.
